If anyone on here is good at photoshop Id appreciate some help.  Im really trying to see what this would look like with the entire frame chromed and the tank and rear seat gloss black. anyone up to the challenge?

Higher resolution and quality pics would help. Those ones are very small and very poor quality.
Wherever you may be, there you are.

unfortunately those are the only two I have :/ I found it online and was going to do something very similar

Yeah, it is going to be VERY difficult to do anything really well with those. Being that the frame is in shadow, it will look pretty much white, and it's very grainy. I can give you a very, VERY, rough black for the tank and rear, and I brightened up the frame a bit.

You dont like it? I find it kinda appealing. Then again Im big into cafe racers :P

i dunno!!? ... it has that new/old style thing going on... i dont mind it! ... rather a cafe that looks like that than a butchered up bobber chopper wannabe! ..

if i was going to go for a cafe racer though it would be more 'genuine' ... the whole deus ex machina type look

the converted gs still has the fairly modern looking frame underpinning the body panels... while the deus is more 'back in the day' styling throughout...

that being said though... on the GS... matte black panels and tank... chrome polished frame.... wire spoke wheels ... few highlights of white or silver logo or old style 'decal'  ... and definitely re-route the back half (or even whole) exhaust for that more 'societies rebel' look....  yeah i could see that!!  :thumb: :icon_twisted:

i believe it IS possible to have wire spoke wheels for a GS project ... its been mentioned here and there on this forum a few times... it appears to be $$$$$$ though!!

That does sound good! Ive been fiddling with ideas in my head, especially on how to re route the back exhaust. Im thinking id wanna try and do a dual reverse cone muffler set up. And as far as the frame thats really whats bothering me, Ive always found the gs frame rather chunky  :dunno_black:

But basically I wanted to do a style similar to this, but a more cleaner, more refined style

missing picture... ?

yeah the GS frame is chunky .. i get what you mean there... you'd need to maybe break up the lines visually somehow...

the ship is an extreme case... but it messes with your eye ...

you could chrome the frame.... but then matte black out some of the edges and visually create a thinner/more angular/more rounded/more 'old school'/whatever .... look...

sure anyone up real close will see where the metal actually is... but as you zoom by? .. or from a distant glance? ...

again .. not a line 'disguise' .. but it fools the eye somewhat eh?  :thumb:

Aaron, chrome frame might sound cool, but believe me, unless you're prepared to spend about a month hand wet and drying it to get a super finish it'll look like crap.
Chrome accentuates ALL the defects, and the GS frame is not a good place to start!

If you want to accentuate the frame shape/styling, paint the frame metallic silver or another bright colour, but if you want the eye to focus more on the motor/tank styling, go for satin black or charcoal frame. I personally like the GS without silver frame because it can visually overpower the rest of the bike because of it's prominence.

PSD? -garbage in, garbage out I'm afraid, -you really need to start with a hi-res original as other guys have said.
Have fun with the project.

Yeah I understand. If anything I'd probably get the frame professionally done. Its just an idea I'm contemplating because I may have to swap out frames due to titling issues. You can kinda see my bike as it is. I built it on a shoe string budget before college. My main goal was to get it running and to ride it before I went off to college.Mainly because everyone always told me I couldn't. Im not sure if I'd want to carry on my black and copper theme or go gloss red with chrome or chrome accents. Btw the rear seat cowl thing was just something i created as a mock up.
