my switch died the other night (wires are good based on multimeter results, brake light works with rear brake). What's the difference between 57460-17C00 and 57460-17C01? They look the same, and the 57460-17C00 is a lot cheaper. I'm looking to order in less than 24 hours (so I can Betty back on the road), so if you know of a good place to get the parts cheap - please let me know.

theres a list there... the C00 is superseded by the C01 ... for models in the list

Test the wiring by pulling the wires off of the switch and short them together. If brake light comes on, then switch is bad. If not, then it is wiring.

The front brake switch goes through the right front handlebar control. It is possible the connector came loose. Ir could be a wire anywhere along the the line broke or got pinched.

Shorted the wires together via a jumper, and the brake lights work. I'm glad, because I had already torn apart the switch in a attempt to fix it and lost the little spring. Somewhere around my house, most likely in my dogs stomach by now - seriously he will eat ANYTHING, is a very VERY small spring.

I ordered the correct part from partzilla (cheapest including shipping), instead of getting the universal one from ebay. From what I've seen, the universal one would work - but brakes and brake lights are something I don't want to take a chance with.
