Power loss when bike is running

I'm having a slight issue I have a aftermarket speedometer witch was working fine but I installed 100w halogen lights and it melted the wires in the headlight. I removed the bulbs and fixed the melted wires. However ever since this my speedometer only works in neutral when the bike is on the second I switch gears it cuts off.

I can turn the key but not start the bike and the speedometer works in any gear but somewhat is dimmer than before I checked all the wires and can't figure this out does this make since to anyone?

I pulled the neutral wire like someone suggested before and it's doing the same issue

Maybe a dumb question but... is your kickstand up when you put it in gear?

Yeah it's not stalling the speedo just wasn't working.

I actually took the speedo apart the ground came off the circuit board an some kind of diode feel off to seems to be the issue
