for some reason I always seem to find the lemons .......anyways just a thought bike wouldn't start unless jumped with different vehicle so took battery in to be load tested was told it was good bought a multi meter jumped my money pit (03 GS) with other money pit (Exploder) seemed to be charging around 12.2-12.7 pending on RPM proceeded to check what I could on the rest of the charging system from tracing wires with bike on and off blah blah blah ......then curiosity got to me checked battery with bike off read 11.6 and watched it drop to 10.9 when i checked a few hours later needless to say not sure how it passed the load test never going there again bought a new battery and not feeling like getting stranded again with the bike off it sits a 12.6 and while running it is between 13.1 and 13.9 are these numbers good and can you harm anything jumping bike with a care battery???

Those numbers look much better. Just be careful jumping the bike from a car, do it without the car running. Sometimes the car can push quite a bit more power than the bike needs, and it could...potentially hurt the system. Once or twice you are probably fine. Just don't make it a habit.

The new voltage levels sound good to me; it looks like you had a bad battery before.  There's always a small risk associated with jumping, but I bet your old battery was just bad.  Sounds like their test equipment was just bad.

I'm afraid that your bike doesn't nearly qualify for lemon status (unless you're holding out on us...).

I've literally gutted a starter for a Chevy S10 in order to warranty it and it still passed on the store's tester.  I don't trust most places equipment...

That being said, the charging system of cars is a lot more powerful than bikes, and I'm pretty sure they run on different amperage.  I'd jump a car off a bike without hesitation, but not the other way around.
A safer way would be to do it without the car running, as was suggested.

Thanks for the input. I didn't have the Exploder running just figured they were both 12 volt batteries and like you say once or twice couldn't hurt.....as far as lemon status bought the bike a little over a year ago $2200 (first bike wasn't sure what to look for as far as problems) since then have put about $900 in parts and service plus wear and tear items set of tires  brakes, battery, headlight and other little things that I've forgotten about .......just frustrated when weather is nice its in pieces and not running but if cold and raining everything is a go I'm hoping this is the end and I can just enjoy riding till the snow flies. Anyways I'm just glad to have the help of people here thanks again
