Broken mystery part

I've been ran mine about ~200 miles give or take a few, I didn't really notice any change in performance....even though I've gotten bolder. The only thing I've noticed was at idle its been bouncing between 1200-1300 but that could be anything from gas quality to it being <30 degrees out. I'm sure its there for a reason but i just don't know why, I guess it might cause the run lean ? 

If any one knows i'd like to know.
