They seem a little late to the game producing a small/er displacement cruiser.

I think they are going to use the new powerplant for a new sportbike line ala Buell.

Yea if the new "sportbike" should weigh 500 lb and handle like a wheelbarrow full of bricks ... that V twin, belongs in a truck.
Cool.

harley woke up with a bad PBR hangover in 1983, and copied the jap bikes from the era, then outsourced it to india.

500 lbs with a single piston stopper, and 45 degree forks. sportbike ? city bike ? my 250cc scooter will eat it alive, right off the production line in india.

i guess this is the harley for the hipsters.

I fixed the link for you.  You can't copy an embedded link.  You need to open the video in the real youtube then copy the link.

Somehow "handling" seems to be an alien concept to american companies, be it car or motorcycle.

The whole rest of the world, even the ones with complete garbage components (like the GS) seem to get it. We have american companies stuff their bikes full of high end sheite and still come out on the bottom.

You'd think a 1 cyl would handle well enough to make you forget everything else ... you'd think, but you'd be miserably wrong.

It definitely won't whip corners like the GS or another sport bike, but I don't really mind the idea behind it. I, personally, wouldn't own one, but I won't judge anyone else for getting one. They kind of remind me of smaller, dragged sportsters.

I'll bite. I like it personally. As for handling define where you think a sport bike handles better. In a high speed turn yes. Around town no, low speed parking lot drills even on my big ass FLHX smokes a race replica.,our Dyna was even tighter turning. The 750 and 500 cc sizes are aimed at the European and Asian markets where the big displacement bikes come with prohibitive taxes and restrictions on licensing.

Of course the hardcore Harley crowd is going to hate it, you should hear the screaming about liquid cooling the exhaust valves on the HO project Rushmore engines in the Ultra Limited. But if they didn't bring it state side you'd hear the snot nosed snivelers crying because they couldn't go buy one.

I hope the MoCo does well with the entry level liquid cooled city bikes.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

tcmia

Maybe they should just do as for or others like ford do and use a working and selling Japanese vehicle, slap some new bodywork on it and be done with a good working time proven low maintenance vehicle.

Go check out the announcement site and the videos, the concept bike video is pretty cool. And I would think they'd be right up the Buddhas alley since they are made in India.

OK mr big talk...

Do a gp8 on that dyna, post your very best time.

Then we will compare notes with what can happen on a super sport, then standard, then...horror of horrors, a super moto.

Game on?

Oh, what's a gp8?

The neat thing is I now have a Honda 750 Shadow Spirit I could ride back-to-back with the Revolution Harley 750 for comparison. The Spirit is the most Harleyish japanese bike I have ever ridden, so it will be interesting to see what one is like vs the other.

SAFE-T

It certainly won't make a good motor for a sportbike. Unless you like to have your ass kicked by Ninja 300's LOL

NikonAndy

I like it from the video, looks cool, sounds great. Who can say how it handles until you ride one. Maybe I'd hate it after riding, maybe it'll surprise us all and be a wonderful ride.

For now, it looks cool, gets me a bit excited to go ride some regardless.

Look at the fork angle. If you think that can"handle" , I got nothin.
