Yes, it looks very bad, its bent. You need to very carefully check if anything else is damaged when you fix that problem.

Blueknyt

bolt looks bent, perhap even the locating pin. try pulling the bolt out, with the head over the edge of a table, counter top or something, roll the bolt and see..if so replace the bolt.

are u sure its the bolt or the crank balancer i just received a new advancer and new bolt and it still wobbles

Big Rich

To clarify: the crank balancer isn't accessible for replacement unless you split the engine cases. You've mentioned it a couple times and I don't see how it is related to your problem.

Get a dial indicator and check the runout of the end of your crank. If you aren't able to do that, take it to a mechanic and have them indicate it for trueness.

its posible, but rare that the fall could have deformed the end of the crank. but again, i say rare, pull the bolt and rotor and lets have a look at the end of the crank. ive had my bike fall on rightside a couple times.  broke the bolt once and bent the bolt twice.  had to replace the locating pin for the rotor twice.  the crank was fine, the rotor got alittle warped but still lined up with the trigger pickups.  ive just replaced the bolt and its fine.   just make sure its tight and does not make contact with the pickups

IIRC in your very first thread you said you crashed the bike at low speed right? I could be wrong. I'm finding it hard to believe the amount of damage your bike has sustained from such an accident.

What speed did this happen, and how exactly did this happen?

Perhaps if we know the details, it may help point out other things to look at and maybe get the bike running properly again.

ok i was at 0 mph popped the clutch to do a wheelie at 10RPM and the bike went about 10-15 foot i did a 180 so i didn't see it the rear tail light and fairing was replaced so it that and the right side handle bar was bent up vertically then the other side and the right crank case was cracked open and the advancer bolt was jammed inside i got it out and signal generator was hanging

i read 339 ohms on signal generator the 2 wires
noticed a brown wire that goes to the ignition today that was unplugged idk if that was it or if i accidentally did it while messing with it so ill have to see why i wasn't getting spark umm but the other one was plugged in right so idk if it matters if 1 wasn't...
I did hear a clocking noise and idk what it was like before i bought bike just know it worked
so its ok if it is bent up as long as its making signal to the advancer?

I'm putting it back together I have the engine back and mounted waiting on haynes book i do have a trade bit online pdf i been using if anyone wants to trade manuals ill give u my trade bit suzuki pdf its on dropbox if i can see your haynes until mine gets here friday.

Geez... Wrong side of bed eh...

So .. It was a relatively low speed incident ... But not exactly a drop ... More of a uncontrolled bike that crashed down with significant impact!

Flipped out from under narmohio as he attempted a high rpm wheelie from a standing start ...if I read it right?

Then the bike clanged and banged to a stop .. Severely bending the bars and not just scuffing but actually cracking/tearing the side case open...

No wonder it's having issues!

That's my translation bit ... The mechanic bits are  :dunno_black:

narmohio, check your PM in a few minutes, I'll dropbox you the pdf of the Suzuki service repair manual I have for the GS. No idea if that's the same one you have, but it's worth a look.

The runout needs to be checked with a DTI, its the only way and its already been mentioned by several people  :dunno_black:

Its done like this but you don't need to remove the crank from the engine to do it.

Anymore than about 0-01-0.02mm and its toast  :dunno_black:

Narmohio - let me get this straight:
Engine runs, but the ignition advancer visibly wobbles ?

I'd not worry about it, that end of the crank may have damage, and it doesn't affect the rest of the crank, you're good.

The timing rotor does just bolt on. It could be bent on the end. The bolt holding it could be bent. Take it off and see if it or the bolt is bent. Extremely difficult to ever bend the end of your crank. The timing rotor can be bent - then as I mentioned it just bolts on to the end of the crank.

Maybe the mating face is dinged up or something else ... I cant see the thing running fine and have too much run out.
In fact just past that advancer there is a seal, if the crank was bent @ that location the seal will start popping out or leaking oil, and it wont leak a little either, it will be a torrent, its a pressureised fitting.

no the bike didn't start up never had spark so I took it to the shop with a new advancer and bolt and signal  generator told him if he could get it to run for $300 hopefully less since it might just need the new signal generator installed the old one could have been bad
