........It isn't very clear what your asking, you may want to take pictures

Big Rich

Wow.

Are you asking how you route your choke cable between the handle bars and the front sprocket cover?

Seriously man, I know everybody is different in punctuation / grammar / whatever. But you're asking multiple questions that are very sporadic to the general masses online. Help us help YOU - by trying to communicate in a language the general masses can understand.

Ok hang on guys.... I can visualise this I think...

Left bar control/cluster ... Choke cable comes up out of frame and towards the control ... Then the end of the wire cable goes up through the hole and normally the toggle goes into the little round slot on the choke slide lever ... But he has lost the lever?! .. Or broken it.. But lost it he says!

And if I suspect right ... He is looking at bodging up another with a lever from a different bike or fabricating one from something...

So he needs to know what the radial location of the hole/slot that the toggle end of the cable is...

A picture of a opened left control and choke lever with maybe a few measurements should do it?!

Or .. Someone to send him an original lever? ... Or to be able to find one ?

Oh ... You've lost the little wedge and spring that goes up under the little bracket plate/retainer on the hand controls ...  :thumb:

Trying to imagine from your description earlier I thought you meant the whole lever...

The wedge looks like a 1stud square Lego piece ... Sort of ... With a bevel top to fit on the curve of choke lever, spring goes inside that piece ... Metal plate holds both in to provide tension on lever ..

You sure it's totally lost?? ... If you dropped it and it bounced on floor it maybe goes 1 bike length away 'usually' ... Unless it came out in crash .. Then it's gone..

Another user needed one of them about 4 or 5 weeks ago ... Someone on here will know where to point you to look ... Or have one maybe...

I'll look on work computer later ... Too hard to search this morning on iPad

idk i took it to bike shop today hope they can keep budget low lol whats it cost to replace the crank balancer anyway

Big Rich

What's it cost to have a shop replace the crank balancer? The one that isn't accessible until the engine is pulled and the cases split? Probably more than the bike is worth.......

for the choke ..

link for the parts desc here .. http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gs500-1999-eux_model13469/partslist/FIG29.html

and the diagram on a separate thing here

now i beleive what you are missing are parts #6 and #7 .. or just one them?

and i KNOW the diagram is of a 1999 old style control ... but the diagrams i can find of the new controls DO NOT show that part separately or as available.??

what i do NOT know is whether the little slide and spring remained the same throughout the various cosmetic changes of the years... i think they probably would have?! ...

but at least failing all else... and if someone can confirm/deny the fit ... you could order the bits you need i think!
