08' GS500 choke = stall

Hey guys,

Starting the bike up, I usually use the choke (even if just a little), however, one day I went to start the bike & used choke, it started then died. I started without choke, & it started & idled ok (used a little throttle), though if I were to put the choke on, it stalls.
It's never done that before, it usually just revs higher, then after about 30sec, I turn it off & away I go... what are some things I can look at that might be causing this ?
