Front Cam Chain Guide - Does it just sit there?

At the top, it has little nubs that sit in a cut-out channel in the cylinder head.

Is that it? I tried to find if the bottom of it fit into any particular groove, but from what I can see, it basically just rests against the rest of the internals once you have it "hinged" at the top. Everything else seemed to line up right and I can turn the crank and timing is good, so I guess I'm just being paranoid.

 I could've sworn mine slid into a groove or something. I remember it was a pain to get out when I had to take the head off.

Yeah, on that. Haynes probably doesn't care, but their note about it is wrong, at least for GSes with oil coolers. I ended up removing mine after I had both camshafts out, and even then it had to flex somewhat to get past the frame pieces near the steering stem.
