Weird noise coming from engine?

Hi ive had a 89 gs500e for a few months and i took it out for a quick 30-45 min ride today and i noticed that once i got up into higher rpms my bike started making a really loud screeching noise it would last until i slowed down then when i got on the throttle again same thing it didnt seem to loose power or act sluggish but the noise definitely didnt sound good does anyone here have any idea on what it could be???

More specifics such as the gear/RPMs at which the noise started and roughly where on the engine the noise was coming from would certainly help diagnosing the problem.

3rd gear around 6000-8000 rpms i couldnt really tell where the noise was comming from i just know it was from the engine
