What happened to the color code chart that included the 3 character color codes? A form of it is still on the Stanford site.

You mean this?  http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Main.Colors

That said I have noticed some pages (e.g. Exhaust) are missing; some of which are still on the Stanford site.

I see it is back. When I posted it wasn't there.
Stalwarts color page is gone. Seems it was on AT&T and they are dropping personal pages.

The chart only goes to '06.
My '07 tank paint code is: XKY -a pearl blue -but that's probably not the correct colour name.
I enquired at a Suzi dealer and they quoted me about $55 for only 90ml of 'touch-up' paint. OUCH!
I've yet to find a paint supplier who can mix the colour from the XKY code, I guess it'll be an in-house code.
Beam me up Scottie....

Color-Rite has all the OE codes for touch-up paints and charges an arm and a leg for them.  Little known fact is that Color-Rite paints are actually made by PPG and they have a master list of all their Car/Motorcycle paints listed by OE code and color name with the PPG mixing scheme.  For the PPG master book: http://www.ppg.com/coatings/maxmeyerengland/Collision/Documents/MaxMeyer_Car%20and%20Motorcycle%20Index%20Book.pdf

So you can go to Color Rite and filter by bike to get the OE code; then go to the PPG book to get their mixing code.  Many body shops and custom shops have a PPG mixing station and may sell you a pint or so, which is certainly a lot cheaper than buying from Color-Rite.

The  PPG chart does not list all Suzuki color codes. Where it doesn't have a code, it doesn't have the correct name. as in 33J - they just have black where it is "Pearl Novelty Black".
YHG they list as "Old Gray" but it is "Oort Gray Metallic".
"Suzuki Y98 Candy Forrest Green" and "Suzuki 1ZV Teal Bluish Green" are not on their list, but is at Colorrite.
I think you can get some colors from PPG, but others might be hard to locate due to the incorrect names.
Be cautious when going from one color chart to the other. Its good you have the PPG book. I'm sure it will save money as long as the color code is listed.

From what I found out is most (but not all) ColorRite paints are actually made by PPG; probably the ones that are missing or have a different name are the ones made by a different company.

But having a reference to PPG for the bulk the colors is a plus if you have some aftermarket bodywork you want to paint to match stock plastics but don't wan't to pay StealorRite prices.
