I just helped my buddy install some frame sliders last night.

The right side, where the rear break is, went in pretty easy. For some reason the left side frame slider was a super beotch to get in. We managed to get it in but after trying like 10 times we never got it to sit flush with the fairings. Did you have any issues like that?

This side no problems

this other side though was a effing awful. Technically it never sat perfectly flush like the first one. We tried raising and lowering the engine by a millimeter or two just to have the engine bolt thread flush with the frame but it never went in as smooth as the other side

Haha thanks golly and cbr!

Ariel, does one of the frame sliders pop out way more than the other? If so you probably put them on reverse. The left side of the frame has a female area (depressed circular hole) and the left frame slider should have a male inlet (small extension with a smaller diameter than the rest) to go in there. The right side frame part where you mount the frame slider is flat, so it would be easy to install the wrong one since both will fit. Only one frame slider will fit properly on the left side. Does that make sense/sound like the problem you may be having?

actually no the difference is like 2-3 mm..i tried everying I could think of to make it square up like mine but it never did. My buddy had little patience though he took off in the current state that its in. I am thinking of convincing em to try and do it all over again.

Do you remember what brand frame sliders they are? That could be the reason as well lol.

I finally got out to the track and did a performance riding school! It ended up raining, pretty much all day! But that didnt stop me from having a BLAST!! It was so much fun and I learned sooo much. Overall, the day went very well, I had a few really close call near highsides, cause I tend to push it a little too hard haha, and the grounds were still wet lol :S oops. Also rode off the track a couple times after taking over some really good guys and not paying attention to the next turn lol, kept the bike up though. I think I was definitely up there with the fastest guys in the 100 level, the instructor wanted to go to the 200 session, but I didnt wanna miss any classroom instruction if we made the switch. My biggest problem was holding my lines at the beginning, when I would pick up speed my lines would go to crap, but by the end of the day my lines were right on and with really good speed.

Heres some pictures from the day, note the morning sessions were soaking wet. Throughout the day I was getting lower and lower despite the rain, but I didnt go too crazy, as I only had DOT tires.

I dont have any pictures of me in action, and not sure the photographer snapped any lol. We will see in a couple days. Anyways, here is a picture towards the end of the day with only two sessions left, the sun had been out for a while and it was finally drying up!

And then came the last session, it was completely dry! Was freaking awesome. So I decided it was time to put some of the newly learned skills to the test! And then this happened:

Some pretty good wear for me! And only from one session! Also got my first knee down! Three times that session! I know I might sound like a noob, but I was super happy I got my knee down and got some good looking tire wear. I am so excited to get more track days under my belt. Will probably be buying another track day with a performance school like this one in August after I am done being busy with work, and then it will be dry out and I can go all out.

Hahaha thanks for the star points!  :cookoo:

It was probably the most fun I've had on two wheels, actually definitely the most fun. Got to where i was coming down the straight at 145 before down shifting and trail braking into corner 1 haha.

Had another track day last weekend on Sunday and I finally decided to throw my Shark skinz race fairings on. The fitment wasnt great but I made it work and didnt have any mishaps all day. I put some decals/stickers on that I have received from sellers that I have bought from

and also 55 cause 5 is my favorite number and I happened to have 2 of them haha. Also new MOTION PRO THROTTLE and 07 killswitch that you guys have yet to see.

I spelt out my last name on the lower fairing too! :)

Heres some full pics in the garage and in the pits. Its held together with zip ties and quick release fasteners lol. I took off the passenger pegs and the licence plate and the rear mud guard.

Little crooked

The tires after the first couple morning sessions

And then, my instructor asked about my suspension and we found I had 11 turns out on dampening, or practically no dampening at all! So he did a quick tune on my front end and rear! Felt crazy good the session after!! He also told me to run 30 psi front and rear so I did and that helped too. Heres my tire wear and knee puck/toe slider wear after the last session haha

Toe sliding was very random, but fun haha. I might raise my rear sets one more step up cause I always ride with my toes and was actually having troubles touching the opposite peg when hanging off in turns a couple times.

I also finally have a video for you guys! I chose the butt angle cause its my favorite and the best to watch to criticize your body positioning ect... Wasnt going for high speed just working on lines pretty much the whole day.

Let me know what you guys think, criticism is welcome since it will come anyways!! Haha

Alright, I might be a little jealous now.... but that's so cool you finally got on a real track! I've been dying to do that since I started riding!

Onto the video you posted for the BP criticisms - It seems like you're sliding your ass too far off the seat to me. It looked like your shoulders were staying more towards the center of the bike while the rest of you was more off. I'm not a BP expert (by any means) but I was always told to lead a little more with the elbow, and basically pretend like you're trying to touch your chin to the side of the bars you're turning. I just read up a that a month or 2 ago and so far it's helped me a good bit on my riding. I'm also 100% street though so maybe you know something I don't? I'm just about out of chicken strips now  :woohoo: and I only really get to lean it over real good through intersections making left hand turns and on ramps to the interstate lol

Lol thanks, track time is such a blast. The CBR will now be a dedicated track bike cause I bought a 2003 zx6r for the street. Ill post pictures of that in a bit. The main purpose of body positioning is to be parallel with the bike, so you want to hang your a$$ and shoulders off an equal amount, with your a$$ normally one cheek off the seat. The push your chin into your elbow pocket  trick is for when you are exiting a corner and straightening out the bike.

The best FREE way to learn about track style aggressive riding for on or off the street is by watching twist of the wrist. You can find the video on youtube. Its about an hour long, learn something new every time I watch it.

That's where I learned most of what I know lol. Whenever I'm going (and maybe I'm just doing it wrong) but I tend to keep a little more butt on the seat and get up a little more on the bars so I can stay looser and in control during the turn. If I don't do that I tend to run out of reach to keep pushing into the bars... The joys of being 5'7" with not the longest of arms. And my SV has a longer reach to the clip ons than a true supersport.

And really? First you get on the track, then you go buy the exact model of bike I'm saving for. Tell me you didn't buy a blue one, or we're going to have some issues  :2guns:

Being short can be hard at times haha. Thats what aftermarket adjustable rearsets are for lol. Sometimes in mid left hand corners I would find my right toes lifting off the rearset cause I am leaned over so far. To fix this I adjusted my rearsets up one more spot. Its bad to be twisted up, too far over on the shoulders and not far over enough with your hips, and vice versa. I am going to try and start racing next year, that is my goal as of now, we will see if I have enough expenses to do so haha.

The zx6r is a blast to ride. Completely stock 2003 minus the fender eliminator, silver in color, with only 7900 miles. I wanted to test first gear pull so I cracked open the throttle and it accelerated fast and smooth and then lifted the front wheel off the ground with no effort hahaha... Only time I have done that before is on a 2014 r1... Pretty crazy. I am in the market for an exhaust, and have already bought a smoked windscreen, tech spec tank grips, flush mount blinkers, and a genuine kawasaki tank pad. I got it for 3600 and the guy threw in a pitbull rear stand and a nice magnetic tank bag. I will post pictures soon. Have to do my first oil change and cut out a spot for the shifter so that I can switch to gp shift too.

Ill definitely get some pictures this weekend up for yall. I changed the oil last night and topped off the anti freeze, also cut the slot in my sprocket cover for gp shift. Trying to figure out whether or not to buy a full titanium leo Vince exhaust, or just a slip on. I'll need to get a power commander either way so might as well get a full exhaust.

Ill wax her before i show her off

As promised, I got some ZX6R pictures for you guys. I didnt wax her though. Here she is before I put my new techspec tank grips on:

Then I put my tech spec tank grips on for the grip and to break up some of the silver:

Had to cut a slot into the sprocket cover in order to switch to GP shift.

I have a CF tank pad, a smoked double bubble, and my flush mounts that will go on next week some time. The oil is super clean cause I changed it, chain has been waxed, and the coolant has been topped off. It is now my daily ride.

Installed a Akrapovic exhaust, k&n air filter, smog block off plates, new iridium spark plugs, and had it tuned before and after. Stock was 104 hp and after all that and the tuning I was putting out 110 rwhp. I have all the maps too.
