Buying 1991 GS500 as a first bike?

By calling to a pay phone of CSDD I was able to get the VIN number of the technical passport of the bike which has a number plate TA3259, and the VIN is not GS500 VIN, I dont know what it is, it has only 12 digits - VJ22A10W7902. Maybe someone could help me with this? Also, the seller told that he wont be droping the 90$ from the bike, so it basiclly costs 780$ now.

EDIT: found out that it is RGV250 VIN - TOPIC CLOSED! Thanks for all the support, will know where to come when help is needed!

Sounds like he had the plate off another bike (RGV250) and didn't have it properly reassigned.  More likely than not, when he "acquired" it he didn't have the paperwork to get it titled in his name, so he put on the other plate so he wouldn't get stopped for riding without registration.

Yep, RGV250 VIN

V stands for V-type Engine
J stands for displacement - 200-249cc
2 stands for 2 stroke twin
2 stands for model version of this bike
A stands for Basic Model as opposed to a special edition, etc.

The VJ22 was made between 91 and 96. The VJ21 between 88 and 90.

Trying to sell an unregistered GS500 as a mistakenly registered RGV, but the VIN reveals all.
