Hey all,

If you have been following my thread on the knocking nose at 10,xxx you know that I found that the starter clutch bolts were lose and causing my issues, well during cleaning I found that the pins and springs are stuck so I need so ideas, currently 2/3 are stuck the first one popped out when the roller was removed. So far I've tried heating the casting up with out any luck, freezing the casting, pulling on the pin with a hook and pick set. any ideas ? Next I'm going to try is heat it up as hot as I can get it with a propane torch and use  freeze off on the pin? Any one got any better ideas?

What that is really weird, and hard to happen ... you sure you're pulling it the right way ?
Put pics up if you can. It may help visualize - AFAIK, no heat needed, these things literally fall out.
Cool.

That allen head looking thing is the pin of the starter clutch ?
If so I am near certain its backwards (unless they changed it in the last few years - I have only opened up an 89-00 one I think)

Yeah it is the other one that popped out was the same way, the pins are hollow, and top is drilled out. Making it almost impossible for them to e backwards but installed the one that popped out backwards for giggles and it came right out with out issue

The pins did not have the tops drilled in previous versions.
They had 1 flat surface and it was installed that part facing out. Springs went into the open end partially.
Cool.

Yeah I think it might of been a factory issue or caused from the lose starter clutch bolts. I don't know haha every thing is going to be replaced so hopefully this solves my issues!

Thanks for the input and help!
