Obviously it has been down.
Tail plastics painted.
Drag bars - so you might want to go back to stock or something else. What other mods? Were the front fork springs upgraded?
Exhaust leak? Need to know where - at the headers or somewhere along the pipe where it may have cracked from being dropped.
Probably would need new tires and chain.
Look inside the tank for bad rust. Look under it for signs it is starting to rust through.
When was the last oil change?
What year?
What looks off is the white wheels were 89-96. Silver motors came later. I'd ask the history of the bike and what parts were changed out.
Check the frame for being bent. Look at it from the rear. Tail should be pretty well centered over the rear wheel.

Price maybe not bad. GS500's around here have been pretty pricey lately. I fit runs well it could be a good deal. With the dents and things you'd need to replace you should try lower. Start at 800 and work up. A couple years ago I bought some GS500's in the 1000-1200 range and didn't have dented tanks.

Here in West Seattle we can fix most anything (and if you look around, we build GS500's too. Like the latest HUHSKY bike).

PS:
Oh, crap. I just noticed the tank is a 2001+ larger tank - that's why the seat doesn't fit right. The forks have rubber caps which means they are as old as the wheels. Looks like 89-96 model with a swapped out motor and tank. Maybe the motor and tank are from a 2001 or 2002 model.

ASK THE SELLER QUESTIONS!

You really need to know what that bike is. Quite an assortment of parts from many different years and models. Different vintages is not necessarily a bad thing. Many parts are interchangeable through the history of the bike from 89-2009. But you need to know what you're buying.

I also see a chopped fender and aftermarket turn signals; with that mix of part vintages; definitely ask a lot of questions.
2009 GS500F
K&N Drop-in - no restrictor
Vance & Hines can on swedged stock headers
HID projector
Balu-Racing undertail
Flush-mount turn signals
Blue underglow
Twin-tone air horn
22.5/62.5/147.5 Jets 1 washer 3.5 turns

Good eye. I noticed as well, but since that is a common mod I let that slide compared to the rest of what I saw.
I'm sure if he buys it we will see it at the West Seattle GS500 Club Bike Cave.
It could be a good deal. Since motor was swapped out, maybe the replacement motor is low mileage compared to the odometer. Then replaced motor and dented tank could indicate lots of abuse. Motor does have side cases scraped up on left side.
Prices for any GS around here right now is really high. $2500 or more and some going for close to $4000! Approaching Ausie prices!

Thanks everybody, I am going to waive off of this one. Too many questions and oddities with the bike.

Found an SV650 I am going to look at instead.

Appreciate the feedback!

That's crazy the money you get for them in Seattle i bought mine a 2006 with slight scratches on pipe and plastic on same side and only 200 miles for 2000 in January of 2013 in ritzville

Simple. Supply and Demand.  Adidasguy Demands all of the GS500 Supply in Seattle.  It's only a small part of his plan to monopolize the dwindling market of GS500s, to eventually be the only supplier and make mad profit from rebuilt GS500s from his Cave.  We still haven't figured out the bigger picture of this movement, but judging by the software this guy puts out, and the amount of weaponry and ammunition he is stockpiling, its high on several government surveillance lists...
