The thread on the mirror is too large

Weird. Obviously they are wrong in what they fit on.
All GS500's have the same threads: M10 x 1.25 thread (I just measured it)
I say return them for that reason.
But they say it is a 10mm thread so I wonder what is going on.
As a test, get a 10x1.25 bolt and see if it fits on your bars and/or matches the mirrors.
I can't think of what else on the bike is an m10x1.25 that you could take off and use to compare.
Did you check both clutch perch and brake?

The Ebay ad says "Fitment: 10mm, Clockwise Thread"
Yes I checked both. I'll look into it later and figure out which one isn't 10mm. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something painfully obvious.

The steering stem bolt is 10mm thread... Unscrew that and try it in your mirror mount.  Torque spec on steering stem bolt is 35-55 Nm I believe.  Randomly discovered that when trying out different spots to mount my phone.

Started the F to E conversion today, man those top triple clamp bolts are SOO TIGHT... almost impossible to get them off by myself. I need to pick up a couple bolts that will fit my new headlight tomorrow but so far I'm loving the look without the fairings.

Reckoning

The headlight bracket doesn't fit a 10mm bolt and the headlight I have/the others I'm seeing online are all 10mm >:( anyone else run into this issue while converting to an E?
