My first post here (long time reader).

I am GS500 shopping at the moment and came across this on a bike today. Can anyone identify what it is?

The bike in question was a fabulous ride, and I couldn't find anything like a 12v power outlet. Any clues?

I guess all the GSs I've ridden and looked at recently have been earlier models with the hidden TPS. Nice to learn something new about the bike.

The 89-02 GS500s do not have a TPS; it was added for the 03+ (04+ in the US) models.
