I know alot of you are naked fans but i like the fairings. It's a 2010 model am buying off the original owner who only ever used it as a commuter. Hell it has the original tyres on it and there are still the nodules on the outer part of the tread.

This was the other pic that should have been posted. my bad but hell am a beginner at this and it worke when tried it first time in test.

Looks nice and clean bro! , how many km on the beastie?  :thumb:

WestAussie

only has 8100kms on the clock.  :woohoo:

Janx101

Only slightly less km than when I bought my 06 in late 09?? .. Or early 10?? .. Can't remember..

You gonna love it bro!! ... Service it at the 12k Mark .... And you will continue to notice it feels and sounds a little throatier.... Runs a little better with regular use ... It's all good!  :icon_mrgreen:

What's the $ tag on it if I may ask? .... 'Most' Aussie gs500's with that sort of age from new and Kms I would expect around 5-6 grand ... Higher is ok so long as you happy with it.... Lower is awesome!  :thumb:

$4900 with 2 blue tooth head sets thrown in. Has had immobiliser and alarm fitted at dealership when it was originally purchased.

I would consider replacing the tires.  If the center of the tread is heavily worn and the edges are not, then in a high-lean turn you'll effectively have a smaller contact patch resulting in less traction and can easily lead to a lowside.

Noice!!!  :thumb:

What Rado says is important!!! ... Lots of commute riders never wear the tyre edges down, the transition from worn area to normal rounded area at the edges... When you lean into a turn , can give you a handling squirm/bump ..... Not the end of the world but if you are 'testing adhesion performance' and going at it hard, the slight change can cause dramas for the unwary.....

I had the situation as he describes .... No problem really while on that set of tyres ... And I got used to it without realising it was there ..... Come time for the new tyres (Pirelli sport demons  :thumb: ) and I was alarmed a few times early on when cornering swiftly to test the lovely new rubber .... The bike seemed to drop into the turn quicker and almost felt like it was 'falling' .... No warning bump!!  :icon_lol:

Btw .... No matter what tyres you buy when you do replace them .... New rubber will always feel so much better and awesomer! .... I have a theory that you could go from a flogged out track day purposed tyre to a new cheap cheap no 'name' tyre ..... And believe that your new one is 'better' .... Simply because it's fresh and performing to its full potential whereas the old tyre may have been hardened and over worn.....

Bit like when you have a bearing or something going bad in a car .... If it's a gradual added whine/noise .... You simply adjust to the car being 'a little noisier over time' ..... The background noises simply add up and you acclimatise to them .... Then one day the bearing says fuggit!! ... Fails ... and you stuck beside the freeway "waitin for a mate" ...  :thumb:

Thanx for the tips guys. Will look into getting some new rubber on it soon.

The Buddha

My rear tar on my commute only bike with 2500 miles is nearly bald on the sides and almost has 1/2 tread in the center.

I call it the miracle of Bias ply tires.
Yea I also have been cornering like a maniac ... one time I saw the left was balder than the right, then I made a concious effort to accelerate in the middle of right hand corners ... and I felt a little wiggle on one right hand curve on my way back home one day. The next day going the other way I saw a nice long black line on the opposite side and went ... yeaaaayyyy I made that.

Now I am going to superslab it a few months and hopefully will have a nice bald tar and be so happy I used 100% of it.
Cool.

:thumb: great bike mate  :flipoff: After just two weeks with my 09f I can say your excitement is in no way going to be deluded,  these bikes really rock! Totally agree with what the guys saying about the tyres, mine had also only been commuted for 10k but at 5 year old we're hard and cracked.  Put on two mitchelin street radials difference is night and day :) rolls around corners now. ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY
2009 Gs500f,  StainTune Exhaust,  LED Indicators, two tone leather seat and sticker rework! LOVE THAT BIKE :)

U totally happy with that price? Have a look at the current "new-out-the-door" prices as SuzAus clear away the last of their stocks ...anyway, your seller will be smiling and it's nice to keep people happy.  Enjoy the bike...set of oggies (if not already fitted) wld be on the buying list before replacing within their life tyres.

For 4900 you could get a nice gsxr600

OK i understand the points made.
HOWEVER,
1:  I am in Western Australia.
2 : There are no brand new GS500F's here coz i rang round and checked.
3 :  I am on a restricted license so this bike fits in with the new LAMS laws here now.

I still think it's a good deal bro.... That new a unit .. With that little Kms... And considering your interstate location ... Good job! ..

The tyres thing ... If they are cactus.. Ie worn badly or hardened/cracked then probably replace very soon.. But if they still look reasonable ... Ride with them till you get used to the bike and how it handles with that rubber .. And handles in general .... Then when you get fresh rubber you will be amazed with the difference ...

I've been banging the Pirelli sport demon drum since I got mine... And so have most of the guys who use them ... However ... Recently there has been talk on the forum of these new Michelin street radials ... And I am waiting for some more feedback from the guys who put them on... Used Michelin rubber on my trucks for 25 years and it's always been better Kms, less drama, better ride loaded or unloaded etc ... I know truck and bike are different ends of the spectrum .. But I have a high regard for the brand.. They may just get me yet!

Your new steed is gonna tick so many boxes for you over next couple years ...  :thumb:

Tyres For Bikes in Vic Park are apparently the best in Perth.  Ive got a new SD on my front fitted for 159. Nice tyre too.

The price is good for a good bike  :D :thumb:

I also live in WA and recently got my GS09 and noticed the prices here are about $500 more than equivalent on East Coast,  due to fact they are pretty rare here as LAMS only arrived recently. I recon thats a great thing, so far I have only seen one other around where I live  :D

MATE please post a pic of her once shes in your arms
