Hey all,
I'm new to the forums but have had my gs500f for a couple of years now. Its a 2007. I have a drop in K&N air filter on it and I am putting a slip on yoshimura exhaust as soon as it comes in. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to rejet my carb and if so, what size jets should I use? I didn't really want to spend $80 on the dynojet kit and heard about the Genuine Mikuni Jets that are much cheaper. (http://www.jetsrus.com/a_jet_kit_street/suzuki_500_GS500F.htm

I recently put in new NGK spark plugs and the old ones were half white and half brown. Could anyone give me some advice on which jets to use on it?

Pipe and drop in K&N - 135 mains 20 pilots. I sell em kits, but 135 is likely to be ordered - 1 sec lemme check - 1 sec - Nope no 135's ... anyway. That's what you need.
Cool.

Dennis Kirk seems to have the best prices on jets; $5.99/pair.

With the K&N drop-in (without restrictor ring) and stock pipe, I was jetted to 20/60/142.5 with 2.5 turns on the mixture screws.

Buddha's recommended jets are most likely with the restrictor on the filter.

Bottom line is you should tune it so that you like the way it feels  ;)  I went for the best possible performance with the hardest WOT pull  :icon_twisted:

thanks for the fast replies. I heard somewhere that I am going to need two of each jet, is that true?

2 x pilot jets , 2 x mid mains and 2 x mains so 6 jets in total fitted to gs carbs 3 jets per carb
I had to change all 6 jets but my bike is fiited with k n lunch box and full stainless exhaust

alright, thanks for the info. Since I have never taken apart my carburetor before, I don't want to mess it up. Does anyone have a link to a guide or tutorial for taking apart the carb and installing the new jets?

You dont need mids really. The K&N in air box is fine with stock mids.
I have 140 and 142.5 though, 25 shipped for a kit without mids. 33 with mids.
