Cant find parts!!!!

Picked up my 2005 gs500f a couple weeks ago. Rescued her from upstate NY, been sitting for a couple years. She was dropped (or more like kicked over probably) in a nasty break up battle. I am looking for new mirrors, a front brake lever, bar ends, flush mount signals, and a fender eliminator... But parts seem scarce online. Does anyone recommend a certain site for replacement parts? Seems our bike is an ancient Chinese secret or something...

You could try making a WTB (Want To Buy) topic in the For Sale section here, and browsing the sales threads while you're in there.


Or...  Ebay is always a good place to start.


The brake lever is a common universal part, a quick search for one on any website will get you results.  Mine was bent and I got a new one off of Ebay for less than $15.
Bar ends should be universal, just have to measure the diameter of the bars to see what size you should look for.  Most likely 7/8".


Don't know why you are having difficulty finding parts, GS500s were made in surplus from 1989 until present, so used parts are literally everywhere.

Well, it would be helpful to that know MANY GS500 parts will fit all years even from a naked model to fairing or vice versa...
For brake lever and bar ends, any year GS500 04 and up will work without a doubt (and as watcher mentioned brake levers are designed to fit many different bikes).  For flush signals, that more of a universal aftermarket type of part - ebay, amazon would be good places to look.  For the fender eliminator, most folks just chop the stock one up how they would like it... but I have seen a good looking 'kit' for around $40 (used to be $30) on ebay that was listed for the GS500 - though I imagine it would work on a number different bikes...

Thanks guys. The mirrors are what I am having the hardest time with. Many of the mirrors I have found online are not compatible with the gs500 for some reason or another. Ill keep checking amazon and ebay. Last stuff on amazon I found that I like was out of stock.
