buddah what you need is a bed edger! great fun and super dangerous especially if you gotta lot of rocks. i used those when i did landscaping.

still a tough job with rocks etc ... but you can apply some pressure...

... well actually what id really try is this 



but at least with the smooth disc thing you can sharpen it again... use it on concrete drive edges etc ... or a really big ass pizza!!!
