I need to remove my tank for painting and repair, can someone tell me step by step hwo to do it starting from draining the gas out first?

I'd appreciate it,

Thanks!

1. Remove the seat
2. Remove tank bolts (2)
3. Wiggle tank back until it is free of the front clamp.
4. Lift tank up from back just enough to get a flat head screwdriver in to turn the petcock to off.
5. Remove one or two hoses connected to the bottom of the tank.
6. Unhook fuel selector so you can remove the res and prime hoses from it. Remember to identify each one for proper install. Carfull to catch spilled gas. It is easier to remove these hose from the fuel selector than the tank.
8. I beleive you can just pull the tank off at that point.
