90 gs500 lots of mods coming

Hey everyone new here I'll start by saying this is an awesome site very informative and tons of ideas I recently picked up my 90 gs E and it was like tons of other very neglected but I am the type of person that turns trash into treasure this is my first bike I'm a car guy and have built multiple cars mainly my 89 mustang notch here is a small list of mods and stuff done to bike

01 gsxr rear subframe seats and tail and a Undertail with integrated blinkers

New 7 inch round unsealed headlight

Set of eBay clipons currently being shipped

New grips katana throttle tube

V&H exhaust going to change to a shorty style tip dumped from under it with exhaust heat wrapped

K&n lunchbox

Waiting on r6 shock to come in

In future I plan on 06gsx front forks and katana rear wheel with a 160 not sure of what else at the moment

When I bought bike harness was junk completely replaced that and painted the tank and tail a nice army green

I also tried a r6 tail which was really close to working with the stock subframe only strayed away from it because I has already ordered my 01 gsx subframe and tail and Undertail and when I recieved bike it had an 04 gsx tail which was nowhere near fitting on stock subframe the 01 can b modded to fit stock subframe

Wow, that really changes the bikes looks.  Did you weld or bolt on the subframe?

I had to bolt it on subframe is aluminum and frame is steel don't believe you can weld them correct me if I'm wrong but being aluminum was nice I was able to slowly cut off factory subframe and kept test fitting till I got what I wanted then because gsxr is wider was able to bend them in just enough to fit on inside of gs frame them threw some bolts through and put lock washers and nylon locking nuts just incase even though was already threaded through it still need to bring to a welder not 100% satisfied I want it to sit up a little higher but works for now will post pics if anyone is interested

I am it also has Undertail with it no cracks in it at all minor scratches and such but real nice it doesint have the seats or taillight that's why I didint use because I already had lights and seats for gsx tail

Make offer prob b easier than me selling on craigslist or eBay

Just recieved my r6 shock got a great deal on it $20 and it came with all hardware and is brand new

Also ordered my new shorty muffler to go on to my Vance&Hines header

Installed crankcase breather ran it out of side of bike

Installed new blue fuel lines very nice

Going to jet bike today and take it to a welder for further tweaks on the rear subframe

Very nice mods, sad to see you chopping up the vance and hines, but at least you still have the headers there. I am sure you can sell the can to someone. Excited to see what kinda paint scheme you go with
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

That's the good part about the shorty tip I ordered I don't have to cut anything just gonna clamp it on and remove it whenever I feel pretty good deal if you'd ask me

Well the Vance and Hines system is all one piece, you will have to at least chop the can off in order to clamp the shorty on, unless you have some other part where the V&H exhaust is already chopped and clamped  :dunno_black:
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

Vance and Hines is connected in the middle under the foot brake by 2 springs to the header the shorty tip is long enough when I do connect it will come out in the right spot as it is a custom length I'll post pics when I recieve it

Oh yea, your right! Its been a while since I have seen one off a bike haha. That will be cool, and you will still have the vance and hines can to slip back on if you wanted.

Exactly hopefully it works out good and sounds nice not caring for the dirtbike sound that I feel like I'm getting now

 Got a lot done on bike this week got frame finished up carbs cleaned and jetted and added my highrise clipons and a lot more little things I needed to do
