I barely even post here (you may remember me from years ago when I first got my GS, or last year when I had trouble with a scooter), but I remember his replies to a few of my threads. Always helpful. RIP

Always delayed it, now it's too late.

Everyone's taken too soon.  Make sure to stop along the way and tell people you love them.

I only just discovered this loss.  I'll be there on Saturday if I can get out of work.  Thank you Patrick for your help and letting me join in building that GS last summer.  I've spoken often of you and the bike cave when I discuss motorcycling with people.

The most I've done on this board is ask Patrick questions about my GS.  In Sept we had planned to install some springs on my bike after the weather got better....I PM'd him a couple weeks ago to follow up with our install and was surprised that I didn't hear back because he's always quick to respond.  Then I come across this thread.  I'm at a loss for words.  I wish I got to know him better.  RIP
Anyone ever find out what happened to the driver?

Oh my... this is so sad. He was so helpful to me.

Saddest thing is that he was hit from BEHIND while STOPPED, meaning that he really had no chance, no matter how perfectly he may have been riding.

Wow, just... wow.

Like many I was dumbfounded by this information and my Friday is pretty much ruined now. I dont check back here as often so I wish I knew sooner. I havent post much in recent years since I moved away from the GS but was very active for 2 years. During that time my GS was my first bike. Like countless others I had tons of questions and Patrick (forever adidasguy) was always quick to answer and help. The guy knew these bikes inside and out. While im sure he saw my questions over and over he always helped, even though he probably answered the same question 50 times. You could tell he loved these bikes, he had a whole garage dedicated to them! Its a loss for this community, the motorcycling world and most of all, his family.... My condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. RIP Patrick........ You will be missed by more people than you probably can imagine and we are thankful for your contributions to this world. May your informative and humorous posts live on as your legacy of one of the best motorcyclist I never even met.

Just a note, these online communities really are that, communities. Its not often hearing about the loss of someone you never actually met makes you tear up :(

Wow i just email him a week or so ago, i was wondering why i didnt get a response because it was usually the same day, he has given me many parts over the years and we have also traded some back and forth. I work night shift and we would also email back and forth sometimes til 4 or 5 in the the morning. I dont know if anyone has done so yet but i would like to see if we could get a uniform sticker to remember him, maybe like a addy logo or something. rest in peace my friend you will be missed.

I see mary has come up with one. let me know what the cost is so i can get a few.

Wow, this is crazy. I am just logging on to the forum now after a short hiatus and I come across a post about a fork brace with an adidas logo in memory of Adidasguy...this is shocking, sad and humbling all at the same time.

I had just received a sprocket cover from him a few months back and installed it this past weekend. In my limited dealings with him I found him to be a great guy. All the best to his family and friends. :(
