First post w00t :woohoo:
I recently bought a 2006 GS500F off of a friend of mine and its got a few little things done to it but I need a little help understanding what his uncle(mechanic) did with the wiring. the front turn signals on the bike or some kind of no name carbon fiber look mirrors with LED turn signals in them and on the rear they appear to be marker lights off of a truck also led, there's no hyper flasher anything like that, but underneath of the seat the rear turn signals have been spliced with the original turn signals that are still living in there. I'd like to fix that. Doing a little prodding yesterday I noticed it if I took one bulb out they both still blank with no hyperflash on either direction but if I took both bulbs out nothing happened no lights no nothing, I thought this was weird because the normal problem I heard about was them just staying on solid but in this case they're not coming on at all with these two bulbs removed, anyone want a shed some light on that? I apologize if there's any typos or misspellings I'm on my phone at work at the moment.

im guessing the old bulbs are in there to make up for the load on the electrical to make them flash. leds are low demand. you prob will have to do the diode mod to the flasher bulb in the dash to get them to work. just search for led diode mod and youll see some good diagrams and pictures of how to do this. i had a similar problem all mine would stay on after installing leds on all 4 corners. the diode mod will get them to blink again.

Thank you, I had read through those threads, but I thought the dual diodes in the dash only helped if the dash indicator was led too, its not yet. I will eventually go electronic flasher and the diode mod along with full dash leds as someone wrote in one of those, but for now because its not doing the whole solid unflashing, but instead not lighting at all without the extra load Im a little baffled and wondeeing if they he didnt hack up something else. This is my firat bike btw and although very mexhanically inclined, something about circuits just makes me cringe

i do not have a led in mine and did the diode trick using stock flasher it blinks faster due to the normal bulb is what i believe. i couldnt get a flasher to work so i called it good. use a diagram and see if the wiring has really been tampered with too much. im guessing it wasnt installing led turn signals doesnt really require a whole lot of wire hacking.
