My Poor GS500 has been sitting in the garage, not getting much love. Its been replaced by a 2 door convertible.

Who else has replaced their 2 wheels for 4 ? or supplemented it? or replaced it with 2 wheels and human power?

I need to start riding it again, but its been like a toss up, get into a car and put the top down, or get suited up to ride.. ummm.. But lately I have been wanting to ride, but the damn convertible makes it SO hard to ride when you can just get into a car and drive away..

this is my convertible:

My last ride of a motorcycle (november 2013 - Coron, Philippines)  - Yes I was VERY squidly!!! haha .. it felt very good to ride though ..

That said I need a motivation to ride the GS500 (I do ride my Fuji road bike at least once a week).. the only sad thing is that I hear about all the motorcycle accidents on the traffic news radio.. makes me NOT wanting to ride. I should ride at least to work once a week right?

before health went downhill, I liked using the bikes. I had motorized a time trials bike. got it to 54 mph via gps. then I looked at back wheel, ( magnesium)  it was cracked. was close to idk death? had it failed.  anyhoo most here don't like bicycles. they don't want em on the road, they don't want them on dedicated bicycle lanes, people here and elsewhere hate them. sometimes yes I agree. if a whole heard is blocking a lane and you cannot pass. that I can see . most of the time however, they work together. bicycles in most places are treated as vehicles on the roadways. ( i.e if you were cycling and blew a stop sign youd get a ticket. ) anyhoo sorry about the ramble lol. loving the vert my friend, now you need a pretty brunette along side you. I miss riding a gs as well. I want to get another one, and try to replicate huhsky. also want to do a huhsky tribue on a goped. ( purple and white theme with the decals.) btw my friend, grab some vid of the driving in the vert EH?, that car is gorgeous.

Phillipines ? Wowee, you're riding all over the world.
Yea accidents are always a statistic in the back of my mind. I'd just try to be as careful as I can. Rider errors are the cause of a lot of accidents. Other than that, the rest is just a statistical probability.
Cool.

4 wheels will never be a replacement for 2  :nono:

I used to own 2 different 2 wheeled vehicles, my GS500 and my Rocky Mountain Slayer-30.

I had to sell my Slayer to stay afloat after I got laid off from my machine shop job.  It's a shame, that bike was a monster.  Something like 6.5" of suspension travel, going over sidewalk curbs felt like a bump in the road, but it sucked to ride on the road because of the gearing and the huge knobbies.  Top speed of like 20MPH in high gear and if you stopped pedaling and weren't going downhill you started buzzing to a halt.  But on the trail it was sticky, fast, agile, comfortable, and powerful.  I wouldn't hesitate to bomb the gnarliest hill, climb a steep slope dotted with rocks and roots, ride over logs you might have trouble just walking over, and jump it over drops that were taller than I am!

I won't be able to replace it with anything less when I have the opportunity to get another mountain-bike, which sucks because I know I won't be able to find another deal like the one I had!  The Slayer at the time was a $3000 bike.  I got it in like-new condition with an upgraded head-set for $1500!
The previous owner bought it online, assembled it, upgraded the headset, threw his pedals on, took it outside in his apartment's parking lot, and realized that the frame was too large.  He couldn't return it, and wanted it gone ASAP so he could buy a different bike immediately and not miss the start of riding season.  His loss, my gain!
I gave it it's first taste of dirt, and I did it on a trail that was named "Cemetery Hill".  Too perfect!
