Here we go again,

My bike is the super rare 2003 variety  ;) I find the common 2002 fork bushes (top and bottom) are about 10 bucks each while the (even more) common 2004 bushes are about 20 bucks each.

Are they interchangeable, I imagine the 2004 ones are made of better friction material and hence more expensive?

Anyone have any light to shed?

Thanks

Brett

No light shedding here, sorry Brett.

Fork bush part numbers... 02, 03, 04, are they different? Anyone know about differences in dimensions?
(I know you're asking the same question really but it would be good to know more, - it has been known for manufacturers to make small changes in dimensions/specs of a part without changing the part number - naughty!).
Beam me up Scottie....

So I checked the part numbers at Ron Ayers, there is an extra D in the numbers, otherwise identical! See image:

Anyone know what the difference is?

Anyone played with pre and post 2003 forks?

regards

Brett

Lol!!! Like those two years triumph was "made" "under licence" to enable it to say it was in production continuously since 1902. I am sure it will sell for a ridiculous price in years to come ;-$

I have asked the  question of a few dealers, I will keep you posted. Pity the local service in montreal is so bad, the local Suzuki parts agent never even called me back.

Reply from Ron ayers,

"Yeah, definitely not a US VIN.  Not much we can do to help you decide between those years unfortunately."

Going to try on the uk forum.

The 2003 models were not available only in the USA. They were the same as the 2002. Not sure of any fork differences. I would get the 2002 parts.
Common sense in not very common.

Hi folks, just to update this, the UK forum indicated that the old and new fork bushes (pre and post 2003) are the same except for a difference in the coating material.

Huge difference in price though!

Regards

Brett
