Hello folks.   Its been a while since I posted!  My GS-500 is gone, but I'm not.     Will try to pop in every now and again to try to add to my 555 (now 556) posts!

I imagine that there are a whole bunch of new peeps on the board to get to know.

My first upgrade from the GS500 was a 1999 R6 (you can read about it here.  My next bike was a 2003 R6 (post) and then I eventually ended up with my 2004 R1.

Its been a few years since I have ridden a GS500... and yes, there is a noticeable difference between riding the two of them.

Not sure what I would go to next if I could afford it.  When I started riding I was single and paying $500/month in rent.  Now I am married with a new baby girl and paying all of the bills... so a new bike won't be in the cards for a while.

I do like the ZX1Rs and the Duc 1098... but I might have to compromise on something more comfortable for my wife to ride pillon on.
