Now I make no bones about my feeling that forums with many areas are less interesting and I like GStwin to have as few forums as possible.  I feel that a mix of OT and GS threads make the board better seeing there are only about 30 messages per day.

So I say I like the old setup with a for sale area, Meet & Greet, and this Main forum and thats all.

What say you people?
There is more to this site than a message board.  Check out http://www.gstwin.com

if it stays like this, it means that there will be a lot of posts, topics and lots of people coming to the fame forum and that's a great thing, but i come here for the GS related stuff and only sometimes read and respond to OT topics...

anyway is good for me because this way there is a lot of posts and people on this board but i think if you create a Off Topic board, the amont of topics and reply's will drop...but maybe i'm wrong....

96gs

i think that like this the people that need info can just come to the main forum and find what they are looking for quickly without having to go through all the stuff that has nothing to do with the GS.

damn, i would like to change my vote  :o i voted but didn't notice that you already added a new board...i voted for I liked it the way it was
thinking "i liked the way it was when there wern't so many OT posts"

sorry

I'm a fan of the old setup.  I liked scanning one section for interesting posts each time I logged in, and maybe for-sale and meet-n-greet once a week or so.  John, don't let 'em convince you to split up the board too much.. I'm a member at r6-forum.com and there are about 25 discussion threads there  :bs:   from "exhaust and fuel systems" to "safety gear"... each forum gets about one post a day, and some even less than that

oh well.. times change... so be it.

I like having an OT section.

That way you can ignore the BS if you dont' feel like getting into it and the treads I AM interested in won't go down the page as fast.

i didnt see that we had a new section and think i voted wrong. anyways i liked it the way it was because it brings everybody into the one forum and lets you see all he posts and in turn makes more responses. :thumb:
keep old way!
going fast isnt the problem, its the crashing and burning that hurts

I'm definately in favor of the new OT section. Although I only registered here recently, I was a long time lurker and thought the signal to noise ratio was getting pretty bad in the last month or so.

Hey Joe (song there somewhere) winter withdrawal man! don't be too hard on us.

OK, I hadn't attributed it to "winter withdrawal", but I can understand. I also follow some rock climbing and whitewater forums and I guess they drift a bit more in the winter.

On the other hand, I would hate for this forum to degenerate into something like rec.motorcycles which is irrelevant.

I for one like the eclectic mix on one forum, especially in the winter months when bike-related issues naturally take a back seat to OT stuff.  Of course, there is no harm in trying this format out to determine if our opinions change, especially when riding season for most of us begins.

I am ok with one forum.  I said I like it the way it is

Of course I put that before I noticed there is a new area

the reasoning for the new forum was as ppl said.. it gets cluttered.

I dont think we have a need for any other new forum... 4 is plenty.

I felt I was getting stuck reading the joke posts.. WHile it was nice to have a mix of gs and ot posts it was a nightmare to find something.

In the long run you will like point of keeping ot posts out of GD.
