Left cylinder much hotter than right...?

I am fairly certain now that I am getting a lot more heat coming from the left side of my engine than from the right.  I think it has been this way since I did my valve clearances, but I'm wondering if it was like this before and I just didn't feel it because of the side fairings. I frequently notice head when riding on my left leg, and I can definitely feel more heat radiating from the left after a long ride.

Am I only firing on one cylinder?  It doesn't feel rough or anything when I'm riding, and I can still do 90 mph just fine on the highway.  I have noticed she doesn't like to run lower than 3000 RPM or so.

Would out-of-balance carbs cause this type of condition?  I might see what happens tonight if I pull the right plug wire to be sure.

Hmm, I never would have thought of that.  So you're suggesting that the problem could be in the pulse generation/transmission?  Come to think of it I remember that the old right side plug had noticeably more corrosion on/around it.

I could tell my left side wasn't running because i pulled my spark plug and it was wet after running the engine, also the exhast pipe before they connect up was not very hot.

Careful tho if it is running you will burn yourself bad on that exhaust !

Good, I'll check the exhaust manifold when I start it up.
