One Jet or two?

On my 3rd step of jets and getting close. At 50 degrees F, I have a stumble just as the throttle opens. Mid and main jet are close, plug just starting to get tan. I want to tune for about 80 F. So how many more steps should I go up for my next set? I've been going up one size at a time. Any rules of thumb for size vs ambient temp?

I started out with the wiki recommended sizes, still waaay lean.

2001, lunchbox, everything else stock. So I've gone up 2 sizes across the board from the recommended starting point.

Ideas? Thoughts? Abuse??

Thanks!

The Buddha

Easy ... stumble opening the throttle = rich.
Surge when holding steady throttle = lean.

And get this - Misfire when opening throttle = lean.

You can be rich in 1 spot and lean in another -
You're @ +2 with lunch box ... so 22.5/65/135 ?
I'd suggest you leave the mids where it is, go to 20 on pilots and 140 on the mains.

You may be AFU (thanks cookie) cos you're trying to match a K&N to a stock pipe. AKA you have a sumo wrestlers mouth and a baby's @$$hole. You can eat like a sumo, but you gonna be constipated. Yea keep off that sushi BTW.

Cool.
