Fuel Hose Routing

So I put a K&N lunchbox in my bike the other day, but i didn't have enough time to put the gas tank back on until today  So as I'm putting the tank back on, I realize that the way the hose was routed before wouldn't really work with the new filter. I did some searching and couldn't find too many threads with a setup like mine. the that i did find didn't really have any pictures.

The PO removed the frame mounted petcock and there's a single hose running to the carbs. I'm assuming its from the RES?
(another thing I want to do, see if there's a better looking way to plug it up). The other outlet has a hose with a bolt and hose clamp on the end, not sure if its jb welded or not.

All that being said, it looks like the hose fits if it goes straight down and then gives a couple of turns, it fits. So I was wondering if that would be a plausible/viable routing option. If not I was wondering if maybe I could get some suggestions as to better ones, perhaps some do's and don'ts? Any information would help really, sorry for the essay.

TL:DR: installed lunchbox filter, unsure of how to route fuel hose, no frame mounted petcock, hose running directly from tank petcock to carbs. is this current way safe or possible? very open to suggestions/constructive criticism

I guess it would look like this, in case the pictures arent helping:
