Hello from a new member

Hi, guys!

   I finally joined the forum! My name is Hristo, nice to meet you all!

   After a really long search I finally found and bought my beloved - the GS 500, 03' with only 23k kilometers on it(~14k miles). It cost me about 1400 USD. I absolutely fell in love with this bike way back at my license course, although that one was a 91' or 92' and was wrecked. Oil, oil filter, battery and spark plugs were changed right away.
   I've had the bike for almost a month now and i recently got the carbs opened, cleaned and synced. I put the screws at 3 turns and upped the needles with 1 position each. That fixed the bouncing idle rpm and the "knocking" sound, because it was running really lean(spark plugs were almost white). In addition I now have a lot more responsive rpm range and the mids seem to be a lot better, long story short - I got quite the results in performance with only a little effort. Surprisingly the sound of the bike got a bit deeper and it revs quicker and became a bit more aggressive. I thought about rejetting but I'll have that done later in time. New tyres, chain and sprockets are more important right now. Also I will be changing the forks' seals and oil for they are in really bad shape.

   I'm looking forward to having a lot of good time with you guys, although I doubt there is anyone close enough to me for some riding(I live in Bulgaria). I'll upload some pictures of my bike for a little show off

Update: My rpm gauge's bulb died so I bought Suzi a whole new set of LEDs and a more whiteish headlight bulb.

My gauge light burned out early on too...so  ....I got LED's in red, blue and white, and tried each....

I like the red the best!

@twocool: I searched for some pics of the different led colors and I liked white the best. The red ones kind of make the gauge look only one colored while the white ones keep the contrast from the red needles and the redline rpm... that's only my opinion and what I prefer though!

Ok..good points!  but as they say "variety is the spice of life"

What I noticed was that the blue LED made the gauges look "out of focus" to me  (I wear bifocal lenses)....yet the red LED made the numerals look really "sharp"....there is a scientific reason for this....

The beauty with LED is that they will last nearly forever, so you don't have to worry about them burning out on some dark night!

I agree with you, but still I like the white LED's the best. I may try different colors in time though - changing such small things in a machinery you use on a daily basis may greatly increase the feel you get from operating it . If it stays the same, like forever, you will definitely get really tired of it, because there is simply no thing to catch your eye anymore. That's what I think here.

Some warm days came up around here, maybe the last ones of this year and so here I strike again!

Changed the forks' oil and seals and got a replacement tire, for my old one was trash... I will still be buying 2 brand new tires at the start of the new season but this one came up for 20$ with DOT 2012 (140/70/17) and I couldn't miss it, just for the few warm days to come.

I would use that new tire until it looks like the old one
2012 wasn't that long ago for a good tire...

That 140/70 BT45 looks good.  Good buy, should work well with your Demon front.

I really hope so, gsJack. I've only ridden ~40kms with it and so far my first impressions are greatly increased stability(may be that the previous rear tire was worn out completely), a bit more force is required to push the bike into leaning at corners but I feel much more aware of the limit of the tire in the corners

Yea well I am currently in the process of getting a gopro but I don't know which is better the gopro hero 3+ silver edition or the basic gopro hero 4 any ideas !

Well, the GoPro 4 shoots 1080p videos at 120 fps and the Hero 3+ shoots 1080p at 60fps. Hero 4 also has higher video bitrate and better slow-motion recording. Personally I'm going after the first GoPro because of money reasons.

Ive decided on the GoPro Hero 3+ Silver edition its only £200 in the uk at the moment I can find it online for £189.99 but I rather pay the extra £10 get it from store so if I have issues I don't need to email to get sorted I can just goto shop..

Also getting official gopro external mic adapter for £15.99 and a mic for about £16 and that's me set!

I don't know if thats reasonable priced but its in my budget range !
