So after doing the needle shim mod on my 94 the bike was having difficulty starting and after it finally started about 2 minutes of warming up I go to give it a little gas and it just wants to die out. I cut it off and try and restart.... nothing just cranking and cranking. Eventually it turns over fires up and idles without any choke and is running fine... Idk I'm confused and stupid.

You did let the carbs fill (prime) after you replaced them?
