suzuki gs500.5

So im new and my name is Anthony. I bought my first bike dirt cheap. 1300 bucks. Few pieces from gs500 and F call it the 500.5. Ive learned alot by workin on this moto. Fixing things and breakin things at the same time lol. Replaced alot of pieces. Trying to get this bike inspected. Last time it was inspected was 2011 lol. Road this bike around first time in my life felt amazing. Idles 4k when sitting. Took the carb apart found a wire in the jet and idle adjuster was stuck on high..rusted. needless to say i hope i have fixed the idling problem because it died a few times on a rural hwy..yikes. waiting on fuel hoses because i broke em and looking for a carb breather filter. The mesh was being at by the carb :/ not sure how to upload pics yet. On my phone for the monent.

What year is your frankenbike?
In your case, the year would be whatever's printed on the frame.

Were you looking for help with a particular issue or just introducing yourself?

Check the stickies and the FAQ on the wiki. They have TONS of very useful info for fixing and restoring a GS.
I'm doing something similar, and was able to get my bike running mostly right without asking a single question, since the forum has a great search feature and these cats have dealt with nearly ANYTHING that can go wrong with a GS.
