Jezza has pushed his luck too far this time.

And here I was reading an article stating BBC was denying the rumor... a shame.

Clarkson is an egomaniacal gobshite who over the years grew far too big for his boots.......sure he has his supporters but he wont be missed by the majority of the UK public. Some may say its over the top but he has had numerous warnings in the past. Not that it will matter to him, he is worth millions and sure to be snapped up by a rival TV company

I say give this fella the job, TG desperately needs something new  :thumb:

True enough, if you punch a co-worker, you deserve to be sacked. I'm rather fond of that knob, but he did get carried away.

Sorry to say it though, but I don't think Top Gear will be the same without Jezza. The chemistry between him, Hammond and May was diabolically good, I just don't see how they could possibly capture that again. There's talk that James and Richard may not come back to the table without Jeremy as well, so it might be a complete rebuild of the series. Which might be amazing! But IF Jezza, Hamster and Capt. Slow get snavelled up by Netflix or something, international audiences will probably still tune in to watch those 3 pillocks thrash about in fast cars and say things they're not supposed to say, but what a lot of people wish that you could STILL say on network television.

Part of the reason I liked Top Gear so much is that it was so..."edgy?" is that the right word? There's too much political correctness these days. They over stepped the line occasionally (a certain children's rhyme comes to mind, although, how he said it is the way I was taught it as a child in the '90's, by my kindergarten teacher), but part of the allure of Top Gear for me was the fact that they did things that other TV shows wouldn't do.

People get upset and start beating their chests over f%$k all these days, yet those same people then turn around and probably do the same sort of thing in their own life and don't see the hypocrisy.

Now I'm ranting...I'm done :)

Yes, TG is quite a show and the presenting team had good chemistry.  Yes, Jeremy was over the top but very entertaining.  There is no excuse, however for attacking a fellow worker, physically and mentally, even if you are worth millions.

Here's hoping Hammond and May stay on board and that they can find another colourful replacement.

I notice the STIG has been quiet through all this.

I love to sprawl on the lounge and watch back to back TG for a few hours if I can! ....

My worst fear.... is IF they keep it going. .. and IF they get a worthy replacement for Jezza. .. that the replacement try to replicate Jezza! ! ..

They should be their own screen persona! .. doing constant Jezza-isms would be a travesty!

.. but look at Perry whatisname-  Black Stig! ..got himself fired for talking out of turn,  went on to be 5th gear presenter!... which isn't as good as topgear! ... but he continued! ...

..  hopefully in the months ahead. .  "Coming soon to your tv screen. . The new motoring entertainment standard! 'More Power! And cocking about! ' " ..... :woohoo:

That little Irish gobshite producer though. .. I don't doubt he may have been stirring Clarkson up during the argument.... wasn't just "no dinner?? Whammo!" ... he understaffed and under catered the days shoot.... and failed to pre organise suitable meals for the whole crew, not just Clarkson! ... where's Mr producers (small p!) comeuppance?

Yea I'll blame the paper pusher too.
Too many of them hide behind "corporate policies".
I'd have kicked the fool in the nvts and made it look like an accident ... but hey, that's just me.

"All the latest, all the latest"

Uk press say the "little irish Gobshite" who had to attend hospital as a result of his injuries wont be pressing charges and very much regrets that Clarkson.....who incidentally reported the incident to BBC bosses himself, has been dropped!

Meanwhile.......

I dont think the bean counters can substitute Clarkson in that show - unless of course they snag someone like say Louis Hamilton. OK Fine I may settle for a few episodes with Damon Hill. If he has to be brit ... Maybe Nigel Mansel ... If not brit - that episode with Hakkinnen was good.

James May also can't be subbed. IMHO, the little guy could be swapped out for that german female rally driver they once said was gonna replace that little guy ... Those 3 are too much of a unit. But Clarkson and May are IMHO 50% and 40% of the whole.

Cool.
