I personally don't need another GS, but I know someone who wants one. ill talk to him about it when I see him next. if the bike's still up for sale ill PM you.

one question though, if I brought a new battery and a few tools, where it is now, would I be able to get it running on the driveway where its at? [like would I be able to work on it there so it can be at least test ridden before we paid for it?]

Hey, thanks for the reply. While I'm more than happy to let you work on the bike and even help out I'm not sure it will be that simple of a fix. I suspect it will need a replacement jet kit after sitting so long. I have a couple things but not enough to do a full replacement. So I don't know how far you are from the area but it's your call, just wanted to set proper expectations first so you don't feel like you wasted time if you can't get it going.

I'm hoping to have some time to play around with it Saturday morning, if I get a better idea of what's needed to get it running I'll post an update here.

Thanks.

sorry, I'd be coming from the east side of polk county. it's about an hours drive one way to Tampa for me. and im fairly good with the GS and all its bits. [I did take apart the WHOLE engine after all...]  :technical:

is the bike pretty much stock? no air filter mods or anything?

also I'm personally kind of interested in the tires alone for myself...

Guess I should have specified the bike is up in Spring Hill so it'll be a bit of a longer drive for you. Sounds like if anyone is gonna get this thing running you'd be the guy to do it! haha I'm just going by my trusty Haynes manual and internet search skills.

When I replaced the jets in 2010 I think I left everything stock but replaced the stock air filter with a HiFlo Filtro. As I mentioned in the original post I also have a K&N RU-2970 that I bought and that's why I had the extra jets around. There have been some gaps between when I've messed with it if I'm in town so I can't remember if I tried the new jets yet or not. I can try to figure out what the hell I was doing last time I was in town and let you know on Saturday :) If you want to look at it yourself just let me know!
