possible cowboy job on my new (old 98) GS500E

got on the bike tonight to go see a friend and turned the ignition on (everything fine) choke on and pressed the starter and the usual happens ... the bike turns if like she ain't gonna start but eventually does (just got the bike less than a week ago and have been working so i haven't had time to service it)

but then everything shuts off ... lights and everything .... so my instant reaction is check the fuse. But however when i had a quick look for where the fuse should be (still new to this bike) i end up checking the manual and figure my fuse should be attached to the starter relay ... GOOD! ... NOT SO GOOD! it would seem upon looking for the fuse (under torch light on the street at 11PM) that some bright spark has came up with a better method of fitting their own tech because lets face it cowboys do better jobs than motorcycle manufacturers

long story short i was wondering whats my best method of tackling this and can anyone reply with a picture of how a 1998 GS500E starter relay and / or main fuse should look like

also i am pretty sure its been botched on the loom side of things OH THE JOY!
