what do you think is up with my chain?

My chain did not seem to making the smoothest of noises while driving. So I recorded a stationary video of it rotating in 1st gear.
Seems to be jumping quite a bit. You can see it bouncing best at about 15 seconds in in the vid below
Anyone have a diagnosis?

I cleaned, lubed and tightened the chain and tried to align it recently. Also cleaned inside the front-srocket cover.

The slack is to spec and I tried my best to get it aligned straight but maybe it's still off.
Before I try to align it again, does anyone have any other suggestions why it might be like this? Maybe a loose front sprocket or something else?

Cheers!

do all the links in your chain move freely or are some of them frozen?

Be aware, this is not very wise advise!

I had an old mountain bike that used to do that, but it would also skip gears and such as a result.  It's a frozen link in the chain.  Get a new chain.

Just checked and links all seem good enough. It's a new enough chain. I got it in Feb and I've looked after it. Only started doing that after a clean-up + tighten where I cleaned out the front sprocket cover too.

It doesn't jump around if I just spin the wheel with my hand.

Could it be something with the front sprocket when the bike is in gear?

When I had the cover off earlier I noticed the front sprocket isn't rigid, there is a bit off play in it where you can push/bend it or out just a little but I figure this was normal.

Was going to take the sprocket off to clean behind it but I didn't have the tool to get that circ clip off.

I should add, I changed the clutch cable too recently but I think I got it on pretty well and there isn't a problem with it.
I was wondering whether that clutch pin which goes into the arm on the sprocket cover had to go into its hole a certain way because I took it out but didn't notice a particular way to put it back in.

If it all seems new and spins well by hand then I'm guessing your idle is jumping just a bit, causing a surge and lull, which makes the chain jump around a bit.

Thanks for the help. How would I tackle fixing that?

Hey guys, still trying to fix this problem.

Can anyone tell me would the rear bearings cause the chain to jump like this?

I also can hear a knocking noise when I pull the clutch in or walk the bike.
Here are a couple more videos of me rotating the chain manually where no problem is apparent and then another of the bike in 1st:

Is there a good test to tell if the rear bearings are shot?

And might the problem be with the front sprocket?

Your spinning the tire backwards by hand.
Spin it the correct way and see if the chain jumps.
Clicking while walking the bike is normally a sign of the chain being too tight, sprockets being worn (especially if it only clicks while pushing it backwards), or the chain being worn.
A knocking when you pull the clutch in with the engine running? in N and 1st? not from the valve train?

thanks guys, I'll loosen the chain up a bit and rotate it the other way. Might have to do it tomorrow as it's midnight here.

So nobody thinks the rear bearings might an issue?

Grab the rear wheel at 9:00 and 3:00 (am/pm doesn't matter) and wrench on it to see if it's loose in any way.
