Many of us actually appreciate the variety of scenery and the renewal of life that comes with living in four season latitudes.  Winter provides a time for bike maintenance minus the anxiety that perfectly good riding time is being wasted.  And it's good to take a break to let the anticipation and plans for the next riding season to build.

8) Of course, people have to snuggle up at night to stay warm.

Actually, for many of us, this is the first real winter in years.  Didn't get sub-zero, but got a generous snowpack to refill declining rivers, bone dry reservoirs and restore our greenery.  Be a busy year for farming if not a lucrative one.

Quote from: Lukewarm Wilson<snip> I have been reading about the exhaust system V&H, Yoshi etc unfortantly here in australia no one imports them.
So while looking for some down here I came across an australian company that makes full systems.
The name Formula 1 they make 18 different models for the GS from slip on mufflers to full systems prices range from $580 for replacement muffler to $1354.00 for a full sports system with carbon fibre Muffler.
Below is the website address

I have not tried them yet as I'm waiting for my warranty to run out first but thought at least its another option for everyone else and the OZ$ is still bugger all to everybody else's $ <snip>

Well I was talking to someone else about this so I have most of the info ready.... you could get someone in US to buy you a system and send it. V&H went for ~$250 or so new. Now you could also have a muffler can bought off Ebay mated to your stock headers. Much cheaper, figure $100 for the can, and say $25 for the muffler shop to do it. They are mighty close in performance and weight. Heck my chop job is lighter than the full system.
Cool.

thanks for that sounds like an idea, but is there much difference between the size of the V&H pipes and the standard or is it just the crossover pipe?
