Intermittent spark issues

I just got a 96 gs500 and I knew it had the issue but I assumed it was the ignition coil. Anyway I switched the ignition coil and that's not the problem. I read one of the threads here about how to diagnose ignition problems. I narrowed it down to the signal generator. I checked resistance across the signal generator and across the brown wire to black/blue it's reading infinite resistance. Does that mean it's bad and I need to get a new one? I don't want to buy an unnecessary part. Thanks for any input.

Don't know anything about the signal generator so can't help there. Before you spend any money though, have a good look through your wiring loom. The wires get corroded and won't pass healthy current through. Recently I had terrible starting issues and replacing all the ignition wiring has seemed to fix it.

I think resistance should be between 135 and 200 Ω (that's on a GSXR) but if it is infinite there is a problem.
