would you rather honk at them? or yell at them? LOL

My question would be:
"Would you rather honk at them (and have an accident), or slow down (or give way) and ride more defensively??

I'm riding happier, and am less upset when someone cuts me off, and I think that it's yet another accident I managed to avoid.
I also try to get away from scenes of near accidents as fast (and as safe) as I can.
The quicker I forget, the quicker I can enjoy riding again.

I'm saying this, because the attitude of trying to rely on your horn, will build a mentality of "you're in the wrong, I'm in the right", and that's a mentality that could get you killed in the long run.

Remember what they say when you get your license:
"No one has the right of way! If you can see an accident about to happen, and can avoid it, avoid it! (even when you're in the right)"

It's a key element for having a longer life expectancy.

I am in 100% agreement with that. I do ride very defensively. Riding a motorcycle has taught me how to see so much more and how to be a better rider and driver. I have had a few situations where there was nothing I could do. One was in a parking lot when this person was...
1.) Blasting Music
2.) Texting
3.) Probably didn't even know he was driving a car
4.) Flipped me off when I parked next to him

Here's the story.
I was at my local hardware store finding a spot to park. I know how crowded and how hard it is to see so I was almost walking speed. All of a sudden, I'm passing this car that is blasting music and within a second, the reverse lights were on and he was going back pretty fast. I sped up to avoid it and went to his window. I was calm and didn't swear or be obnoxious. I told him he needed to be more careful, put the phone down, and turn the music down. He flipped me off and squealed away.

Now, a horn would have done nothing in this situation so I'm not even sure why I told this story. I don't want any road rage. All I am looking for is a horn that will be heard even if a person is talking on the phone or listening to loud music. Nothing obnoxious.

My first post was a bit out of frustration because I was in traffic and couldn't go anywhere and a lady on her phone came into my lane, forcing me off onto the rumble strips (semi traffic jam on a highway) I honked my horn and she didn't even notice. I don't want to be the guy that has an obnoxious horn, just something at the level of a car horn.

I will definitely look into the horns that you all suggested. I have been very busy lately and haven't had time to do any "research" recently

Thank you for all of your help.
