Engine dies while engine is running

I have a 07 GS500F that continues to die on me while riding. I have recently done a full carb and petcock rebuild to eliminate those problems. I've read around about GS bikes where the kickstand sensor goes bad. I don't believe this is my issue because it will start up and go into gear every time.

My issue is after riding for about 5-10 minutes, the bike will then die quickly wit no sputtering. I noticed today that if I open the gas cap and then attempt to restart the bike. It will go for a couple more minutes before the engine dies again. Its definitely a fuel starvation problem but I'm beginning to think the culprit is my gas tank vent or passage being clogged. Has anyone had this issue before? Please help!

It's a pretty common issue, there's a walk through to cleaning it somewhere on this site.

If only a gas vent was my issue  :technical: :technical: :technical: :technical:
I'll have no idea what piece you're referring to unless you include one of the following: Doobly doo, thing-a-ma-jigger, or dibbledy dop.
