Hello everyone I am very new to this form but anyway. I have been looking around at getting a new exhaust for my 2004 gs500f and have found the Delkevic 9" exhaust. However I am a new rider and don't know a lot about bikes. After installing this exhaust will I need to rejet my bike? If so what size jets have worked the best for people with this exhaust. Any help or positive input is much appreciated thanks!!

That's what I have and so far I've been pleased with it after about 5k miles.
I have s k&n lunch box filter and re jetted with what Bhudda here on the forum said and it seems to work perfectly, but yes you will have to re jet.  Oh it is a bit loud but especially if you get on it hard

Some rejetting info here:

Note, your year bike probably has slightly different carbs than earlier years.

thank you guys very much I was beginning to wonder if anyone was gonna reply how loud are we talking here? Like would it be a problem with the cops? would the 13" be less noise cause i ride into work early in the morning at about 530-6AM I don't wanna be that ass who wakes up the whole block lol

Pipes that are loud @ high rpm sometimes are not that loud down low, and vice versa. My classic example was D&D off a GSXR vs a GS specific Yosh.
The Yosh was loud under 4k but got quieter and burblier up high. The D&D was not that loud to 3k, but @ higher rpm it was like someone stuck a poker in your ear and was scratching the back of your skull for anyone following it. The rider was in a bit less noise, but behind it, it definitely was loud as hell.
Cool.

Interesting well it's worth a shot if i wake up a bunch of people I am sure ill hear about it. Knuttzz have you gotten any complaints from family or anyone for that matter? I live in vermont so I'm not too worried about it just curious. Again thank you to everyone for there input I will deff be coming back if i have any other GS related issues! I will post pics once I get it on.

There are some sound clips on You tube, might be links to them here on the site.  Will give you an idea of how loud they are and also let you decide which one you like the best.

I've got the V&H, which I really like but it can be loud when you get  on it.

Knuttzz

Under 4k or so it's not too loud.... Above 5 and the shirt exhaust starts getting a little noisy. I live out in the country so as far as neighbors complaining ..... Well I don't have any.

Logalegg

Thank you guys really helpful and I hear ya knuttzz ill look on youtube for sound again thanks guys for all the help knuttzz how hard was it to install? did you have to do any mods to the pipe to get it too fit?

Knuttzz

No mods to the pipe other than cutting it. I already had my pipe off so it was easy. Looking at it though I figure with a hacksaw and some patience you could cut it on the bike.

Logalegg

Wonderful I will give it a shot soon thanks guys
