Waitin on the bus to go have these electrodes removed from the epidural area of my spine. idk if they will use an anaesthetic or  not. im just hoping im strong enough upstairs to handle that, as well as the resulting pain from not having the device in place. my body has to recover from these 2 surgeries/procedures plus get itself ready for the implant surgery itself. been leaving the device running 24hrs per day to help with fracture pain. which turned out to be an unintended side effect. ;)

Very much so. i kept trying to bail my financial ship out, then realised whats the point?  cant do that until im able to get back on my feet physically. and mentally. so no sense in getting worked up over it. i missed my wound care appointment today ( thought it was tomorrow ) but realised i can handle what was left to do myself. i cant walk on this ankle without chancing  further damage.  after a round of my ROM excercises, that pain was intense. almost felt like fracture pain again. so ill have to hold off on this. doc said try some ROM ( range of motion) until it hurts. then make a note of this and dont proceed past this point.  the fracture is around 45deg from vertical. so moving it too much i feel it. so thats getting suspended. already had one plate surgery, dont really want another. After the surgery/procedure to remove the SCS ( spinal cord stim.) today frombmy epidural space, the pain blocking is gone. i feel it all. next week i meet my neurosurgeon, and we plan the procedure. a week from that.  So im just going to go batsh*t crazy for a while. because every move i make has a consequence lol :(.

Funny how the pain receptors never seem to get tired of doing their job. The pain aspect never seems to deteriorate.
Always (unfortunately) fresh as a daisy and ready to do their job of making your day unbearable. :icon_sad:

I occasionally develop migraines as the result of cervical spine damage, (long story).
It's like feeling debilitating pain for absolutely no reason. Uncanny.
Twist or sleep the wrong way and BAM, your whole day is crushed because of tweaking one nerve run in your neck.
Go figure.

Thats another issue i will have to deal with at some point. wanting to say its between c4-c5 or between c5-c6 have progressing deterioration of the discs. as of right now though its not high on the fixit list. ( right at the shoulder blade/neck junction) found this out / confirmed it when i had the ct scan in aug. after 1st ankle fracture. ( also had mild concussion lol. franklin stoves arent forgiving. hit it on way down) goin crazy slowly. because theres nothing i can do for the ankle pain for a month unless it deteriorates. this pain doesnt stop. sometimes i think a stiff drink would feel great, but i dont drink anymore, and  err plus having difficulty balancing sober, adding buzzed/drunk to mix would equal another broken bones thread lol. so that wont happen.

The entire situation is crazy.
Sleep must be near impossible at this point.

Seems exhaustion is your only rest period.  >:(

 exhaustion is my friend . going to save up and rent a motel room for the night. and use the hot tub..... keeping it elevated doesnt work anymore wtf. changing position likewise.... tried the alphabet excercise with my foot. ( keeping ankle in one spot and writing letters using my foot made it through G..... doc didnt recommend this.  this one i had picked up on some of the ortho forums. about the same impact as ROM.....

Medical forums? That's a good idea.
Learn anything useful yet?
Have you met any others with similar problems as yours?
Just wondering since a medical forum seems like a good source of info for your current dilemma.

may call ortho today. if not will call fri. this is quite taxing. anyhoo time to pass out. btw weight is at 141. i ate like a pig tonight. didnt enjoy that but had to gain weight especially with implant surgery coming before too long.
Aaron
p.s. original FX made mention of "intra articular extension" i.e. way i understood it is the fracture extends into or across the ankle joint. ortho made no mention of this. idk.

O_o . . . That actually made my brain rev up to dig up all the medical reading I used to do. Wow. LOL

Breaking things you walk on really tends to put a damper on things. . .

Then theres the arthritis from this whole mess, that mexican hurricane was no picnic. got off phone with ortho, said i could soak in hot water or alternate between it and cold. ankle fractures brings up a google search i made in august, there was an idiot who WANTED to break his ankles so he could get out of running a marathon. i wanted to register for that forum so i could go off on this person. i mean seriously if you want out of an event like that either 1
just quit. or 2 go to walgreens get an ace bandage wrap it and fake a limp. your body never gets 100% over this.. people amaze me sometimes. ill have to find that thread again.
