Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I've been having some noise coming from my front wheel. I put new wheels on the bike at the beginning of the season. Thought that would solve my noise issue but it hasn't. I was wondering if I need to change the front wheel bearing or is this just noise from the wheel on the highway?

Also, before you flame me and tell me to search for a thread, I did alread.

Thanks in advance.
Peace out girl scout,

It's hard for me at least to tell you with out hearing the noise. It could be bearings, the tire itself, the brakes or rotor or the speedometer cable or gears .

Yeah, I still haven't pinned the noise location, as I only hear it while riding. Heh, kind oF hard to get close to the wheel at speed.  But that's alot to think of, how expensive is replacing the baring?

Make sure it's the front wheel..... put bike up on centre stand... either have a helper sit on passenger seat to lift front wheel off ground OR put sandbag? Weight on rear to do same. ...

Spin front wheel by hand at varying speeds as best you can , listen for noise......

Why?....

If it's up front then you can locate easier..... but if it's not. ... then you may have sprocket/chain noise.... I've noticed a few mentions/final diagnosis recently that were 'noise from front' but ended up being under the ass area.... sound can be deceptive on bike!

I have to agree with Janx's comments. I spent a "happy" couple of weeks chasing a similar problem a couple of months ago. Like you I had a noise coming from the front. It was a rubbing noise, so initially I thought is was the brake. Then the wheel bearings. Turns out it was the chain!

So put the bike on the centre stand and rotate the front wheel at speed and see if you can replicate the noise. If you can, well and good. But also rotate the rear wheel and listen for sounds from there.

Good luck.
Back on bikes and loving it.
