Hello,

So I'm the creator of this topic where I got a spacer stuck in my crank. I decided instead of testing it to just go ahead and replace the engine. I thought I read elsewhere that all the engines are compatible and bought a 07 for my 05. I've noticed a difference though, on the exhaust side there are 2 small ports that look similar to EGR ports. What purpose do they serve? And does anyone know a way to take care of them such as blocking them off or rerouting them? any information is appreciated. Picture below of them.

and here's a picture of my bike in it's current glory.

Thanks,

They are for the PAIR system. You can block 'em off if you'd like, performance won't suffer.

Ride it like a 2 stroke:
1: Rev high
2: Add oil
3: Repeat

Thanks for the information!

Now I have an issue though. I've switched the engines over and I have crank no start. Some things to note..

1. Engine is definitely spinning.
2. Tested spark and new plugs.
3. Air filter definitely not clogged.

Sounds to me like I'm having a fuel issue. I've tried Prime, Reserve, On, I've tried the switch under the tank at both directions. For how much I've tried starting it I'm definitely not smelling enough gas. Anyones experienced anything like this? Or have any suggested troubleshooting?

Can you run the fuel line from the frame petcock out to a bucket to confirm that it's flowing? Just to make sure the tank petcock is open and fuel flows in prime.

Yeah I'll have to try that. When I tried removing the line from there it was really stuck on and I was afraid of ripping the hose. I'll find a way to get it off nicely.

The best way I've found to get hoses off isn't to pull, but get something like a flat head screw driver wedged on the end of the hose and push from that end. Needle nose pliers used on the side to push also seems to work well. Don't squeeze or push too hard and gouge the metal or slip and stab yourself or the bike.
