Alright I rebuilt my motor following the manual. Well anyways fast forward two years I finally got it started up! It revs up when first started to about 4k rpms then idles at about 1500 rpms. It will only run with the choke on when I let off the choke it will idle down and die. When I give it gas it dies. Jets are clean on carb. Oh and sometimes when I give it gas it will back fire. Mixture screws are set two full turns out. if you need more info let me know thanks!

Well done on getting it back together! I remember my nerves on my first restart after a complete rebuild.

I'm thinking it's running lean, choke on richens the mixture. When you give gas the mixtures is momentarily weakened until the carb responds. (The Gs does not have an accelerator pump built into the carb like my vw beetle).

Make sure the gas has no delivery problem to the carbs, there are no leaks between carbs and engine and try to richen the mixture through the mixture screw . Also how are your float levels?
The backfiring is strange though as that can be due to rich mixture,  bad valves or timing, but I'd rule the last two out on a new engine where you would have checked them.

You think Pyrrhic victory is bad you should try Pyrrhic defeat!

Haven't checked float levels will do that once daylight hits. Took it for a spin with choke on and chain came apart! Got a new master link and fixed it but now the weirdest thing! The clutch cable keeps popping off while driving it. I got the case on all the way I believe it's flat so I don't understand? Chain tension isn't really loose? I got run marks on the steel that holds the clutch cable so I'm thinking the a sprocket is moving and running against it?

Don't ride it again until you've got to the bottom of the chain thing, -broken chains can delete engines!
WHERE does the clutch cable keep popping off?
Mixture screws sound too far out to me.
It's lean on tickover.
Backfiring may be an air leak, how are the exhaust copper seals sealing?
How are the rubber carb inlet boots?
That's just a start...
Beam me up Scottie....
