Single Pick Up Ignition TDC

Hi, I am planning to check my valve clearance and probably change shims if necessary. I have read valve shim articles using "search' but failed to find an article specifically for single pick up ignition. My bike is a 2007 GS500f.

How do you set TDC on a gs500f?

Same you would with any other bike...........use a TDC indicator

Or......you can do it by the book, go off the timing marks and hope all the tolerances involved don't add up to something significant 

By eye alone and with a bit of practice you should be able to get it to within about 2- 3 degs............. which seems to be good enough for most people
